Persona 4 Revival lands February 18, 2027. That gives you about six months of free time you are going to waste anyway. Spend it on Persona 3 Reload.

Not sure which Persona to start with? I wrote the play order before Revival.

Reload is the 2024 remake of the 2006 game, and in 2026 it is finally the complete, everywhere version. Switch 2 port is out. Episode (gagging noise) Aigis is out. The soundtrack still slaps. The story will impact you.

If you only know Persona from 5, this is will be the version you’ll like the most, it’s got the best features and aesthetics from P5 and the story from 3.

Persona 4 Revival is the deadline

It just makes sense to bring P4 to modern day standards after P3R but let’s not talk too much about it this is a P3R post after all.

Playing P3R first is not homework. Maybe just a warmup. You will learn how these remakes play, and you will actually care when people start arguing about which remake is better next year.

And of course, no shame in just larping, I’m super guilty of larping all of these I’m barely starting to play the games.

The almost complete version exists now

Episode Aigis - The Answer is the epilogue. It is a remake of the old FES story, you play as Aigis, and it is about 30 extra hours. It is also sold separately, because of course it is. This one I suggest just watch on youtube and skip the grind. It is a lot of combat.

No FeMC route but there’s mods for that.

It is on everything

As of 2026 you can play it on:

  • PS5 / PS4
  • Xbox Series / Xbox One
  • PC (Steam and Microsoft Store)
  • Switch 2 (out October 2025, 60fps TV performance mode after the December patch)
  • Steam Deck (Verified)

It left Game Pass in August 2025, so that free lunch is over. Watch for sales, they run sales very often.

It is the good version of Persona 3

You get to control the whole party this time. Which I can’t imagine how frustrating that would be. It kind of made sense though, SEES peeps don’t feel like friends even with the added hangout cutscenes.

Tartarus is still a tower of similar floors. Reload made it less painful, not gone. They did try to have it be a fresh coat of paint but the essence had to remain.

I don’t think I’ll get tired of the music, Color your night and It’s going down are constantly stuck in my head.

The story is the reason

SEES is a great cast, I like them but they don’t feel as close as P4 or P5. Balancing school life and Climbing tartarus becomes second nature quickly but you always think of “ugh I forgot to do get my free skill card” or “I forgot to do my sunday social link”.

The fresh coat of paint really did it for me. The UI is aesthetically pleasing, I like it even more than P5.
